LETTER FROM THE PUBLISHER

Friends of the InfoGuide,

As we close out 2025, I am thrilled to share some exciting news with you. This fall,

The Florida InfoGuide was honored by the Florida Magazine Association with two

awards: the Charlie Award—their highest recognition—for Best Redesign of a Large

Circulation Consumer Magazine, and the Bronze Award for Best Visitor Publication

– All Consumer.

These awards mark an important milestone in our 25-year history. Earlier this year,

we completed the first major overhaul and format change since our founding,

transitioning from a full-size magazine to a digest size that

is more portable, reader-friendly, and cost-efficient. This

redesign allowed us to celebrate the incredible legacy of

our retiring founder, Bob Marcus, who devoted decades

to building this publication into the most respected

visitor guide in Tampa Bay. It also gave our in-house

design team the chance to showcase their creativity and

hard work on a statewide stage, competing against some

of the most prominent consumer magazines in Florida.

Beyond the pages of the magazine, we have invested

in new tools to strengthen our service. Our delivery team is now supported by

a state-of-the-art distribution platform that ensures we can manage and service

our extensive network of hotels, kiosks, and visitor centers with precision. Looking

ahead, we are excited to welcome a new intern and a sales professional to help us

continue our growth.

This has been a challenging year. The lingering effects of last season’s hurricanes have

strained many of our local businesses, and in response, we provided complimentary

advertising to help support their recovery. While the financial impact has been

significant for us, we are optimistic about rebuilding stronger in the months ahead.

continues to bring joy to everyone he meets. Thank you

for your continued support as we guide visitors to the

very best of Tampa Bay.

Warm regards,

FLORIDA SALTWATER FISHING RULES

The easiest way to get a fishing license in Florida is by

searching for “Fish | Hunt FL” in your smartphone’s

app store. Hunting and fishing licenses are also sold

at all county tax collectors’ offices and many bait

and tackle shops. Licenses may also be obtained

on-line at: GoOutdoorsFlorida.com

You do NOT need a license if you are:

• Any child under 16 years of age.

• Fishing from a for-hire vessel – guide, charter, party boat – that has

a valid vessel license.

• A nonresident fishing for recreational purposes from a pier that has

a valid pier saltwater fishing license.

• Fishing from a boat that has a valid recreational vessel fishing

license.

• Any resident 65 years of age or older with proof of age & residency.

St. Petersburg Beach was incorporated by the city in

1957. In 1994, local offi cials changed the name to

the shorter version of St. Pete Beach, to distinguish it

from the city of St. Petersburg, a few miles to the east.

• A tourist coastal city with several miles of white

sandy beaches, boating activities, restaurants,

entertainment, shops & accommodations.

• The Don CeSar Hotel is the famous ‘pink building’

which opened in 1928.

• The downtown area is centered on Corey Avenue.

Fish

spread

is

a

local appetizer dish

that can be found

at many restaurants

throughout

Tampa

Bay. Typically, it’s

made of smoked fish

and is not unlike chicken or tuna

salad. It’s served with crackers

and a relish on the side. Each

chef’s interpretation is unique, but

it’s always awesome! It’s great

with veggie slices too. Try it!
