Guide

Amos, our MVG, Most Valuable Greyhound, obviously can’t

enjoy a cold beer, but he does have favorite local spots

that he thought he’d share. These are not paid promotions

- just where Amos and his humans enjoy. These are all near

our home and offices in St. Petersburg. Tell them we sent

you if you go!

1.

Golden Isles Brewing, 3000 Dr. MLK Jr St N., STP

Golden Isles is a relative newcomer to the local beer scene, although

they are about to celebrate their second anniversary. Time flies! This

special place is a neighborhood spot teeming with young parents, kids

playing outside, and dogs lounging. They have a different food truck

onsite each day (except Mondays), and they’re all wonderful. Come for

a bite and a “coldie.” Greyhounds and friends welcome.

2. Green Bench Brewing, 1133 Baum Ave N., STP

Green Bench is an STP Brew OG. They opened when the brewery

scene began to take off and have since perfected the art of making

great beer and a great time. Also check out Webb’s City Cellar that

shares the common outdoor space. Webb’s is their bar dedicated to

experimentation with unheard-of styles made with unique processes

that result in exceptional flavor. It’s a must-stop for true beer

aficionados. Greyhounds and friends welcome.

3. Pinellas Ale Works Brewery (PAWS), 1962 1st Ave S., STP

PAWS is a dog-themed brewery with beers on tap like Piddle Pils, Off

the Leash West Coast IPA, Smoke Dog Smoked Red Ale, and Milk Bone

Sweet Stout. To say they’re dog-friendly is an understatement. So

these guys were probably a shoo-in for any list from Amos.

4. Gulfport Brewery + Eatery, 3007 Beach Blvd. S, Gulfport

Envision a Key West brewery with a shaded side yard covered in shells,

live music under a small covered pavilion, and a quaint 1920s bungalow

that serves as home base for it all and you have Gulfport Brewery.

Before the hurricanes destroyed Gulfport’s docks, we would bring our

boat, tie up at the city pier, and walk to enjoy a relaxing, intimate, laid-

back experience. Greyhounds and friends welcome outside.

5. The Dog Bar, 2300 Central Ave., STP

Brilliant is the best word for it! It’s a full service bar

with a huge beer selection set in an off leash dog park

right on Central Ave in the Grand Central District of

St. Pete. Their motto is “Sit. Stay. Drink.”

Seriously? It couldn’t be better.
