FLORIDA SALTWATER FISHING RULES

The easiest way to get a fishing license in Florida is by

searching for “Fish | Hunt FL” in your smartphone’s

app store. Hunting and fishing licenses are also sold

at all county tax collectors’ offices and many bait

and tackle shops. Licenses may also be obtained

on-line at: GoOutdoorsFlorida.com

You do NOT need a license if you are:

• Any child under 16 years of age.

• Fishing from a for-hire vessel – guide, charter, party boat – that has

a valid vessel license.

• A nonresident fishing for recreational purposes from a pier that has

a valid pier saltwater fishing license.

• Fishing from a boat that has a valid recreational vessel fishing

license.

• Any resident 65 years of age or older with proof of age & residency.

St. Petersburg Beach was incorporated by the city in

1957. In 1994, local offi cials changed the name to

the shorter version of St. Pete Beach, to distinguish it

from the city of St. Petersburg, a few miles to the east.

• A tourist coastal city with several miles of white

sandy beaches, boating activities, restaurants,

entertainment, shops & accommodations.

• The Don CeSar Hotel is the famous ‘pink building’

which opened in 1928.

• The downtown area is centered on Corey Avenue.
